U.S. Congressman Visits JayStar Office During Last Year’s Busy LM-2 Preparation Season

Congressman Jim Himes takes time to encourage JayStar Group’s accounting experts during the final week prior to the deadline for the majority of U.S. labor unions to file their LM-2 reports to the Department of Labor.  Picture a tax accounting firm’s office the 2nd week of April and you’ll visualize the pressure cooker atmosphere surrounding those responsible for preparing the complex financial reports known as Form LM-2 prior to the March 31st deadline.

Congressman Himes stopped by the JayStar Office to meet with employees and hear about the challenges facing small businesses in Connecticut. JayStar Group, Inc. has a complete range of products and services to help labor organizations meet many of their “back office” challenges.  Services and products range from accounting system installation and training for popular accounting software plus LM-2 compliance consulting , to JayStar’s  ORION ® membership/and dues management system.  From initial consulting to improved membership support to full regulatory compliance, JayStar Group regards itself as “Labor’s Information Solution.”

JayStar partners Dave Roger and Bob Stevenson stated how pleased they were to have Congressman Himes stop by their office to learn about the challenges facing small businesses. “We were pleased to give the Congressman our suggestions for government action to spur small business growth,” said Stevenson. ”We hear our representatives at every level talk about small businesses being the ‘engine of growth’ in this economic recovery. Businesses like JayStar Group continue to thrive despite the tough times, but we need real incentives for hiring. The government could spur more job growth by giving small businesses assistance in the areas of payroll taxes and controlling soaring healthcare costs.  Those two areas represent major challenges to us in terms of cost control.”
